Amrita Singh:Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan issued an official statement a few days back to announce Kareena Kapoor’s pregnancy. The couple that got married in October 2012 is expecting its first child this December.

The Pataudi household is thrilled to know the arrival of the youngest member of the Royal family. Wishes have been pouring in to congratulate the couple.

But Saif’s first wife Amrita Singh, who is mother to his son Ibrahim and daughter Sarah, is miffed for some reason.

According to a report in DNA, originally attributed to Bollywoodlife.com, Amrita lost her cool when she was asked to comment about Kareena’s pregnancy.

“How do you have the guts to call people and ask such random questions ? Who are you ? Don’t call me again!”, Bollywoodlife.com quoted Amrita as saying.

Singh was born into a Sikh family]She is the daughter of Rukhsana Sultana who was a political activistand army officer Shivinder Singh Virk from a feudal family.Through her paternal grandmother Mohinder Kaur, Amrita is the great-granddaughter of Sobha Singh, OBE, of Hadali, Sargodha,one of the builders of New Delhi, and the great-niece of the late novelist Khushwant Singh.

Her maternal grandmother Zarina Khan was the elder sister of actress Begum Para[citation needed]. The latter is the mother of actor Ayub Khan. The two sisters were daughters of Mian Ehsan Ul Haque, who came from a landowning family and was the Chief Justice in the princely state of Bikaner, northern Rajasthan[citation needed]. Her mother Rukhsana Sultana’s father was a Punjabi Hindu, Group Captain Madan Mohan Bimbet. Zarina took her daughter with her after the marriage failed and the child was renamed Rukhsana Sultana and raised a Muslim. She inherited most of Ehsan Ul Haque’s property[citation needed].

Singh attended Modern School in New Delhi and is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

Singh gave birth to their daughter Sara Ali Khan on 24 September 1993[1] and son Ibrahim Ali Khan in March 2001,and the couple later separated in 2004.
